Vegan model Peter Filak doesn’t drink water. He used to before, but it has been three years since he has touched any glass of water, or any liquids for that matter. Apparently, he has survived. Filak said he began the waterless diet on May 5, 2012 at 5 p.m. He said he doesn’t drink water, even filtered ones since “You’re taking out one chemical and putting in another,” according to Vice. He added that he doesn’t believe in hydration any longer, and that the fluoride and chlorine in water is too much chemical for his diet. The vegan model reportedly survives on approximately 800 to 1,000 calories a day, most of which come from whole fruits and vegetables.
“Especially as I went into a raw fruit and vegetable diet, I’d be waking up two to three times a night to pee. So it just didn’t make sense to me. I didn’t understand why I had to be drinking all that water,” according to the waterless diet guru.
Peter Filak was once a registered nurse. Now he is an avid health and lifestyle reformer and a webcam model, or as Vice described, “his far more civilized term for online pornography actor.” He has also written some books, specifically about his waterless diet.
He reportedly likes going on 10-mile hikes with his dog, a chihuahua-shih-tzu-papillon-Pekingese mix named Sachi who is also on the no water diet. To prepare for their hikes, Filak said he eats a couple apples and a banana, while Sachi consumes a kiwi or some carrots if thirsty.
As a raw vegan, it’s not unusual for Filak to rely entirely on fruits and vegetables for food, however taking water out is not so common, according to Food Beast.
What does Filak hope to achieve with the waterless diet? Apparently, the 26-year-old hopes to live up to 150 years old with his no water lifestyle.
For his part, Filak said he will not push anyone to instantly buy his way of thinking.
“I always tell people, ‘see for yourself.’ I was very cynical for a while, calling everyone a moron. I embraced what made sense and what was obvious to me. I’ve come to understand i can’t force my perspective on others. I’d rather people educate themselves,” he said in the interview.
